RheinEnergie’s acquisition of AGO AG Energie + Anlagen

Following approval from the relevant committees and regulatory authorities, RheinEnergie acquired all shares in AGO AG Energie + Anlagen from HCS Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH in April 2020. This move strengthens the Cologne-based company’s expertise in the forward-looking field of energy services.

AGO AG – now in partnership with RheinEnergie – continues to focus its expertise and experience on the planning and construction of innovative and efficient energy supply systems. The acquisition creates numerous synergies and potential new areas of activity in the field of energy services for both AGO and RheinEnergie.
These range from comprehensive consultancy services and plant design to contracting solutions for industry and local authorities in the areas of electricity supply, heating, cooling, and ventilation and air-conditioning technology.

“As RheinEnergie, we have been active nationwide in the field of energy services since 1994. In doing so, we have developed a complete service chain covering consultancy, engineering and implementation, including sophisticated contracting solutions. With the acquisition of AGO AG, we can now tackle the challenges of an increasingly complex energy landscape on behalf of our customers,” explained Achim Südmeier, Chief Commercial Officer at RheinEnergie, outlining the rationale behind the acquisition.

The shared aim is to enable customers to focus on their core business and, above all, to optimise their energy requirements and consumption in the long term through tailor-made energy services.
