AGO is supplying two new 50-tonne once-through boilers to K+S Minerals and Agriculture GmbH
K+S Minerals and Agriculture GmbH is a major manufacturer of potash and magnesium products. Production at the Werra plant requires both electrical energy and heat, for which the company operates its own gas and steam power plant.
AGO GmbH Energie + Anlagen from Kulmbach was commissioned to modernise the plant for reserve steam generation.
This steam boiler plant consists of two new double-flue, large-water-tube boilers, each with a capacity of 50 t/h of superheated steam. One boiler weighs approx. 90 t, is approx. 11.5 m long, approx. 4.7 m wide and approx. 5 m high.
Due to the heavy weight and the structural dimensions of the boilers, these units were delivered by special transport. A 650-tonne crane was required on site to lift the boilers over the roof and into the adjacent building.
Here are some impressions of the boilers being installed at the Wintershall site.
