In the course of modernization measures, the four existing cogeneration units were dismantled and replaced by new ones with reconstruction of terminal groups, gas control systems, catalysts.

The existing gas turbine plant has been replaced with a CHP unit. Based on the increased overall efficiency in reference to the gas turbine system, the CHP plant has been elected “CHP of the month of August 2014” by the Federation of German Industries for Cogeneration.

Redundant cooling by means of two oil-free turbo chiller units and two hybrid coolers allocated to the chillers. In addition two free redundant cooling heat exchangers have been installed. An integrated brine-water-heat pump is providing heat for the rooms and ventilation.
